Tax Department Administrative Assistant
The Opportunity
We are seeking a individual to join our Tax Administrative department in our Atlanta Office to support our tax department and handle other administrative duties within the firm as needed. Must be a proactive team player with a "can-do" attitude and the ability to multi-task. Must be professional with excellent communication and organizational skills. This individual will report to the Director of Tax.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for sending out tax organizers, engagement letters, and tax returns
- Process and send tax returns, extensions, and miscellaneous forms in accordance with governing agency filing requirements and internal standard operating procedures, in both paper and electronic format
- Follow up with client for tax documents
- Ensure client satisfaction
- Monitor due date lists and e-file status
- Assist in maintaining databases and client records
- Support tax staff with additional tax administrative duties as assigned
- Assist completing simple tax filings as needed
Qualifications and Experience
- Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives with little supervision
- Excellent customer service skills; able to interact with clients in an efficient, courteous, and professional manner
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Detail oriented and thorough; able to see how the details fit into the bigger picture in a task
- Ability to handle and resolve recurring problems with a positive attitude
- Ability to learn new software quickly
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Maintains a positive/cheerful attitude
- High School graduate or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
Preferred Skills
- Experience with CCH ProSystem fx software, CCH e-filing, XCM solutions
- 2+ years of experience with corporate/personal tax preparation
